RISE AGAIN NO 1 IN IRELAND, NO 2 IN JAPAN, BUT...

RISE Again, the Caribbean single for Haiti currently charts online in Ireland and Japan but it is absent from the other 20 listed iTunes territories based on Splash analysis.

The song is currently number one in Ireland and number two in Japan with Challenger by Chehon charting at number one. The single, however, is absent from the other major reggae charts on iTunes including the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

The single, available for download since this month was written by Shaggy, Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Christopher Birch, and George Rickardo Ducent. The single was spurred by the earthquake on January 12, which killed over 150,000 Haitians. The proceeds will be donated to the Digicel Haiti Relief Fund. It is available on iTunes for download for US$0.99.

Speaking about the song, Shaggy had said: "Rise Again is for the people of Haiti. It is to show them that we are here for them and that we will support them each step of the way as they begin rebuilding their lives which were shattered by the earthquake."
The video -- which is directed by renowned film and video director, Jason 'Jay Will' Williams -- is also available on iTunes.

"The devastation in Haiti and the heartbreak is immeasurable. The aim of this video is to offer hope and a chance for change and recovery. The simple message is: Throughout all things, one thing will remain true - that despite the tragedy, despite the struggle, despite the hardships, Haiti will rise again," Jay Will said about the video in a press release.

Artistes featured on Rise Again include Shaggy; Sean Paul; Sean Kingston; Barbadian artistes Alison Hinds, Shontelle Layne and Edwin Yearwood; Trinidadian soca artistes Destra Garcia, David Rudder and Kes Dieffenthaller; Jamaican reggae artistes Tessanne Chin and Etana; and Haitian artiste Belo. The track was produced by Christopher Birch.
