Ghanian Reggae Icon, Rocky Dawuni for Governmental Role in Ghana?

Where ever around the world Ghanian Reggae icon Rocky Dawuni brings his music, he carries the name of his beautiful African nation and homeland Ghana with him. Therefore it comes as no surprise when we learnt that Ghana's Ministry of Tourism is now considering making him Goodwill Ambassador for Tourism in Ghana.

Rocky was praised by the country's tourism minister, The Honourable Akua Sena Dansua for his "immense contribution, through the platform of reggae music, at promoting Ghana in the international community".

They both got the opportunity to meet and have a chat after Dawuni got a personal invite by the minister in Accra, Ghana.  He took the opportunity to brief the minister on his new and highly acclaimed album, “Hymns for the Rebel Soul”, highlighting the many award nominations it received.

Rocky indicated his preparedness to project and market Ghana’s numerous tourism potentials on the large international platform.

With his many global tours he had expressed how much it has enabled him to "learn more about how other countries were branding and marketing themselves through tourism".

He suggested that Ghana uses its great assets, including soccer excellence, friendly people, and stable governance and economic environment to attract tourists and investors into the country.

If appointed as Tourism Cultural Ambassador, Rocky Dawuni promised he would "use his many networks worldwide to promote Ghana’s tourism industry, among others".
