Buju Banton's release date set for Februrary 2019

Buju Banton though still listed as 'In Transit' has had his release date set at February, 2019 by the Bureau of Prisons.


This release date for the reggae star was set based on time he already served on his original ten year sentence handed down after his guilty verdict in February.

Banton was found guilty of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five or more kilogrammes of cocaine, attempted possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and using the wires to facilitate a drug-trafficking offence.


He was however found not guilty of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offence.
