Jamaica to bestow high award on Dennis Brown

On October 17th when the Jamaican people celebrate their Heroes Day, they will be awarding the crown prince of reggae music, Dennis Brown the 'Order of Distinction'.

This is an honor that will be posthumously awarded to Brown because of his decades of contribution to the growth and development of reggae music and the Jamaican culture.

Dennis Brown though dead over ten years now, currently has one of the hugest collection of reggae music. His catalogues span over three decades with multiple hits in his homeland of Jamaica, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The Dennis Brown Foundation will mark this event with a tribute concert celebration after the Jamaica Heroes Day Award ceremony. The concert will feature some of Dennis Brown's friends and other young reggae acts inspired by the reggae legend.
